Starting from the heart of the city this route showcases how easy you can escape the urban environment.
Heading out along the River Tyne the route is initially gently undulating. However, soon you must do a series of climbs to reach a neighboring valley before you can start to ride back.
Around two-thirds of the way around this loop take the opportunity to enjoy Pedalling Squares Café, award-winning for its food and décor this should not be missed.
This route is perfect for gravel bikes, a mix of road and off-road, all quiet and mostly traffic free … the culmination of many years of exploring.
