Happy New Year from the 3T Family

2021 was supposed to go a little smoother, wasn’t it? But despite all the craziness the world threw at us this year, there are many reasons to celebrate. So as we turn the page we want to give a big and heartfelt thank you to our customers, dealers, fans and everybody in the extended 3T Family for a very special 2021.

Without further ado let’s look back at some of our favorite moments from 2021.

XPDTN3 Snow

Looking back at an eventful year we got started with a crazy XPDTN3 trip in to the dolomites in the heart of winter. Our intrepid adventurers braved cold temperatures, high altitude and tons of snow for a bike packing trip across the resorts of the Dolomiti SuperSki area. If you need some inspiration while toiling away on the trainer this winter we couldn’t recommend this video more.

DRINK BUILD: THE RACEMAX ENOUGH. EDITION

As the weather warmed up this Spring the world was introduced to Mattia de Marchi and his band of merry bandits at the Enough Cycling Collective. Combining the legs and lungs to beat world tour veterans with the true light-hearted spirit of gravel that anyone can identify with. Like anything Enough does this bike build video is not your regular slow-mo beauty shot video. We love their spirit and think the gravel world is better off with them in it!

VELOCIO // EXPLORO SEASON 2

Unbound Gravel gave us the return of the Velocio//Exploro team. It was the first occasion the women had to meet in person altogether since the team camp the year before. And they did not wait a second to start putting up some massive results. In the Unbound XL 350 mile race, Cynthia and Rachel finished with identical times to cross the line together in 4th and 5th.

And in the main event, the slightly less crazy 200-mile race Lisa Woerner took down some of the real heavy hitters in the gravel world to finish 7th in the women’s race.

RACEMAX ITALIA FOUNDERS EDITION

By mid-summer we finally realized the dream of bringing frame production back home to our office in Itlay. The Founders edition frames (the first of which are shipping out in the upcoming days) were released to the world and represented the fulfillment of an incredible amount of work by the engineering team behind the scenes.

The DreamBox

2021 was our 60th anniversary as well and to celebrate we launched the preposterous but absolutely glorious 60th Anniversary DreamBox. The DreamBox celebrates the best of the Italian cycling industry. With collaborations from Campagnolo, Carbon-Ti, Castelli, Fizik, Kask and Koo this bike is only matched by the beautiful box that accompanies your machine.

The Psycho Killer 100

Jumping over across the pond to the big mitten of Michigan. The 3T Exploro continued its streak of wins on Barry Roubaix’s Psycho Killer 100 mile route. The race have never NOT been won by the Exploro Team frame. Touch wood we continue the streak next year when Barry Roubaix returns to its traditional early spring date.

The Launch of Rival AXS and Rival AXS XPLR

Would this be a 3T blog without talking about gravel tech? While not specifically a 3T accomplishment the launch of electronic shifting and new gear ratios for gravel is definitely something worth celebrating. To mark the launch of this innovation we’ve secured a few more groupsets that match perfectly with our new Team frame colors.

Gerard recounts his ride with XPLR in Tuscany in a recent blog. Take a look at his thoughts here. If you need a new bike to match that new year’s resolution, you couldn’t find a better option than our Exploro Team Rival AXS 1x in the Sand/Honey color.

Have your own adventures planned for 2022? Or want to share some pics of your past adventures? We love seeing what our Exploros and Stradas get up to once they leave our factories. Be sure to tag us or use the hashtag #3TBike for a chance to be featured in our gallery.
