Introducing FWD Racing x 3T

For anyone familiar with the off-road scene in North America, Andrew L'esperance and Sean Fincham will certainly be familiar.  These longtime stalwarts of the XCO world cup circuit have spent the last few years embracing curly bars and the gravel scene and now we’re thrilled to have them linking up with 3T for 2025.

Despite being from opposing coasts these two have a long history of racing together. Squamish, BC’s Sean Fincham and Nova Scotia’s Andrew L’esperance first set up FWD racing back in 2018. With a few stints on factory MTB teams in between two have a long history of racing as a duo and linking the off-road communities of both coasts together.

They come to us with a deep palmares with both doing duty as the Canadian Marathon MTB champions in 2023 and 2024. Despite their roots pushing the tape on the world cup circuit, going long off-road is nothing new to these guys.

These MTB roots tie into our partnership as well. With the gravel scene in North America continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on a gravel bike they needed the tools to race in a wide variety of conditions.

“When we set out to build our own program for 2025, one of our number one priorities was partnering with a brand that made a gravel bike that would be very competitive at the front of the races. This gravel thing is dynamic in many ways, but particularly on the equipment side of things. We knew we needed to find a company that was well ahead of the curve and 3T is the company that was immediately top of mind. It is a dream to have access to three different drop bar bikes for all the different racing we will be doing this season. From road to the gnarliest gravel races to border line mountain biking, and everything in between, we have got the bikes for it. Looking forward to adventures on and off the race course on 3T bikes in 2025.”

Andrew & Sean

The early season results back up these instincts as well with Andrew (AKA: Lespy ) taking a couple of podiums in early season races like BWR Arizona and Homegrown Gravel on the RaceMax.

Then in the Lifetime Grand Prix both the guys took the Extrema out for its maiden voyage. The Sea Otter gravel race is dusty, loose and steep. The perfect rugged terrain for a bike like the Extrema.

In an absolutely stacked field of international gravel pros, European road racers and former grand tour winners, the FWD racing team put in a result they can be Extrema-ly proud of finishing 13th and 14th. Lespy finished as the 4th wild card as well, putting him in a good spot to secure an entry to the main LTGP along with Sean.
