PiemontGravel: a first taste of Ultra2 Italia

From April 10th to 12th 2026, Bra hosted a new edition of PiemontGravel, an event that has become a solid reference point for riders looking for varied gravel routes, technical terrain and a strong connection with the territory.
For the first year, Reverb joined the event as official partner together with 3T, technical partner of PiemontGravel. During the weekend, a dedicated rental fleet was also available, giving participants the opportunity to test 3T bikes directly on the event routes.
For the occasion, riders from the Reverb community took on the routes aboard the new Ultra2 Italia Reverb, testing the bike across a wide variety of terrain.

A constantly changing route

One of the most interesting aspects of PiemontGravel is the variety of surfaces and riding conditions.
Throughout the day, riders move between fast gravel roads, vineyards, forest sections, flowing single tracks and more compact sectors where maintaining rhythm becomes important. The route constantly changes character while crossing the Roero and Langhe areas.
The 222 route starts in Bra, in the setting of a historic villa, before entering the Roero Park with several wooded sections and continuous terrain changes. From there, the route heads into the Langhe area, passing through La Morra and Barolo with a mix of rolling climbs, fast gravel roads and more technical vineyard sectors.
It is the kind of route that requires a bike capable of remaining stable over long distances while still being easy to handle when the terrain becomes tighter and more technical.

Ultra2 Italia Reverb on the routes

The Ultra2 Italia Reverb was used throughout the weekend in exactly the type of environment it was designed for: long distances, mixed terrain and continuous surface changes.
PiemontGravel required a bike able to stay comfortable and composed for many hours while remaining intuitive to ride through tighter sections, woodland trails and technical sectors.
For the event, the setup chosen featured a rigid fork and 700x55 tyres, a configuration that provided a high level of control on rough terrain without compromising rolling efficiency on faster sectors. Especially through the long gravel sections in the Langhe, the bike felt stable and precise, while in the Roero and single track sectors the handling remained predictable and easy even after many hours in the saddle.
Probably the most noticeable aspect of the platform was its overall balance: a bike capable of absorbing rough terrain and maintaining comfort over long distances, while still feeling responsive whenever the route allowed the pace to increase.

Reverb and gravel events

PiemontGravel was also another opportunity to see the Reverb community active within an event where riders approached the weekend with different goals, but with the same willingness to ride and share the experience together.
Over the last years, the Reverb community presence at gravel events has progressively grown, both in races and in more exploration-oriented long-distance events.

Final thoughts

The routes of PiemontGravel proved to be a solid testing ground for the Ultra2 Italia Reverb across very different terrains and riding conditions.
A platform designed for modern endurance gravel riding: stable, comfortable over long distances and easy to handle when terrain conditions constantly change.
