May 25: Komorebi Barcelona – Girona

Japan has a rich culture, with traditions and a powerful language. They have an extensive dictionary of words, some with a clear meaning and others that we cannot directly translate to another language. These words have a more comprehensive and deep meaning.

“Komorebi” is one of them. The Japanese people use this term to refer to that magic moment of a sunny day when the sun’s rays filter through the leaves of the trees. The light produced at this exact time is unique and fleeting. Inspired by that meaning, the guys from Velodrom used “komorebi” to create a series of gravel events with the aim of providing an unforgettable adventure to all participants.

Organized by RCS Sport, it is included as a cycling tourism event in the calendar of the Italian Cycling Federation, with its first edition dating back to 2019. Thanks to the use of e-bikes, which allow normally trained cyclists to tackle climbs usually reserved for champions, the event offers all bike enthusiasts the experience of the Corsa Rosa, mirroring its route; the only changes are the starting locations and the reduced length of the stage. The 2024 edition includes 20 stages, with daily distances ranging from 30 to 85 kilometers. There are also time trial stages, which in the Giro-E become regularity tests.

Gravista is all about the views, the gravel, and having a good time! Come to one of the most scenic areas on the East Coast for an epic ride with lots of challenging gravel and climbing. Be prepared to climb!

Virginia’s Blue Ridge is Beautiful and painful all at once. The Climbs are unrelenting but the views are worth every pedal stroke. Depending on the distance, you’ll climb approximately 100 feet of elevation for every one mile. In our book, that’s tough but there will be food at the finish line for you!

May 16-19: Rule of Three

Northwest Arkansas has some of the best road riding in the United States. If you’ve ever ventured into the backroads, you’ll find gravel roads unrivaled anywhere else on earth. Have you ridden the singletrack? It’s world-famous.

We thought we’d take these three paragons of NWA and wrap them into a brutally beautiful, challenging, and uncommon course. You’ll ride out of Bentonville on rolling, mixed terrain. The road will pitch up and descend, over and over, and you’ll feel fresh as your mind plays tricks on you. Tarmac to gravel and back, then a quick dip into some primo Bella Vista singletrack. Pop out, and your front wheel points towards southern Missouri as you speed along the tree-lined rural roads…
