With a 45mm rim depth, 40mm external width, and 29mm internal channel, the Discus 45 | 40 LTD is optimized for tires ranging from 40mm to 60mm WAM.

At 3T, our development philosophy is clear: continuous evolution.
Just as we reimagined the Racemax2 while staying true to its original concept, we redesigned the Discus 45 | 40 LTD based on real-world feedback and wind tunnel testing. The result? A completely new aero wheelset that preserves the comfort of its predecessor while offering a superior balance of aero performance, reactiveness, reliability, and weight.
NoseTail Design
The carbon rims of the Discus 45 | 40 LTD feature the truncated NoseTail shape—the ideal compromise for aerodynamic efficiency and bike handling, even in crosswinds.
This design delivers aero performance comparable to deeper rims, ensuring optimal airflow toward the downtube of modern aero frames, like our Racemax2.
The 29mm internal channel strikes the perfect balance between aerodynamics, weight, and comfort. Wide internal channels allow the tire to align seamlessly with the rim for improved stability, precise handling, and enhanced cornering confidence.
It All Starts with Tires
Like frame design, rim design begins with tires. Wide tires require wide rims to avoid airflow disruption between tire and rim.
With the market now dominated by tubeless-ready tires over 40mm, the Discus 45 | 40 LTD rims are engineered for 40–60mm WAM tires, setting the new standard for gravel performance.
Performance Meets Comfort
With 21 Sapim CX-Sprint spokes up front and 24 at the rear, these wheels guarantee the perfect balance of comfort, strength, and performance.
High-performance Scope R-Series hubs ensure smooth rolling and durability, featuring a labyrinth seal system that keeps dirt out even under extreme conditions.
Total weight: 1439 g per set, over 200 g lighter than the previous generation.
Hookless Technology
Tubeless tires allow for lower pressures, reducing rolling resistance and minimizing punctures. The hookless rim design of the Discus 45 | 40 LTD is ideal for today’s large tubeless tires.
Hookless rims are lighter, laterally stiffer, and more impact-resistant—perfect for gravel riding.
