GET CREATIVE - BLACK KNIGHT

Ryan at VELOVAS is back with another amazing paint job, following his last creation we shared a few months ago. Swapping bright colors for greys, black, and textures, this is a totally different animal, raw and organic, loving it!

This Exploro RTP frame was done for a client out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He wanted the bike to look as if it had been ridden on the trails around the area where he said there was a lot of limestone type gravel, and obviously mud and rocks. But he wanted to take on a style with the semi-distressed look, kind of beaten and should I say mad max-ish.

There are obviously several different colors used in many layers that unfortunately pictures do not show, but if look that in person the details can be seen and especially the depth. The whole bottom of the frame, down tube, chain stays and inside of chainstays and fork, where there would be rock wear is carbon fiber, as if rocks had chipped the paint away.
It was an extremely fun project with lots of collaboration with the client, and in all honesty, I probably had four different ways before we decided on one that we knew was the winner.
And you know honestly, the coolest thing about it was when his wife (who is an art major) saw it in person and was extremely impressed! The client said that is not very easy to do stuff like that, and that really makes it all worth it!
