Kolovna is more than a cycling store. With three locations across the Czech Republic, Kolovna not only sells bikes but also offers accommodation and focuses on supporting micro-mobility projects. At the heart of the entire Kolovna concept is the promotion of cycling, building a cycling community, discovering interesting places, and enjoying an active lifestyle.
The goal of Kolovna is to create the perfect environment for those who love an active holiday, simultaneously see cycling as an alternative means of transportation in cities, and overall view cycling as a pleasant way to break up their daily routine. With a mission to create a space where cycling enthusiasts can come together to share their passion – it’s a hub for a community of like-minded individuals who share a common love for cycling.
The story of Kolovna began in 2015, when we renovated a guesthouse in the small mountain village Hynčice pod Sušinou in the heart of the Jeseníky Mountains. Not long after, we opened the Bikecentrum & Bistro with our first bike and e-bike rental.
Penzion Kolovna is perfect for both summer and winter sports activities. You’ll find plenty of beautiful paths and trails nearby for cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, and ski touring. But our favorite activity here is gravel riding. It’s a paradise for all gravel enthusiasts, which is why we’ve been organizing a popular gravel camp here for several years now. And we’re thrilled to have been given the opportunity this year to host the first annual gravel challenge in the Czech Republic – Jeroboam.
We believe that the Jeseníky Mountains and the neighboring Golden Mountains are the ideal locations for Jeroboam. The longest route of 300 km will offer you the best of this area. You can look forward to diverse terrain from gravel paths, cycle paths, forest roads to singletracks. But even on the shorter routes (Magnum – 150 km / Standard – 75 km), you will see all the hidden gems and stunning views of the Jeseníky Mountains, while not being forgiven any mountain passes and steep sections, which can be really uncompromising around Hynčice pod Sušinou. When we leave our primary base in the Jeseníky Mountains back to the city, our main anchor is in the capital Prague – Kolovna ZOOna. Kolovna ZOOna is a vast multifunctional complex that includes a newly renovated store, extensive outdoor area, showroom, bike rental with a test fleet of up to 30 bikes, and a gastro zone. Our Prague cycling store is located in the renovated part of the former Troja brewery, where we aimed to blend modern style with the original industrial design. As you enter the entire area, the original atmosphere breathes on you. Come visit us and see for yourself.
In addition to 3T bikes, all of our stores in Prague, Brno, and Ostrava offer a wide range of premium outdoor equipment from brands like Maloja, Patagonia, POC, and Vaude. Each store also includes a professionally equipped service center and a rental service for sports and city bikes.
